The PreMax is a 500 series channel strip that combines a high-performance preamp with a 3-band EQ. Designed to be super easy and quick to use, the PreMax eliminates uncertainty about gain structures by directly mating the preamp to the EQ. The Accustate input control simultaneously sets the input sensitivity and gain for optimal signal-to-noise. A traditional 3-band EQ is both musical and easy to use with standard low, mid and high controls. The EQ may be bypassed using a front panel switch. This is supplemented with a 100Hz high-pass filter that gently removes excessive resonance that can muddy a track. A 180° polarity reverse is used to phase align stereo sources or match older vintage equipment. When housed in a Radial 500 series rack, the Omniport ¼” is designated as an instrument input for direct recording and activated with a front panel switch. These features combine to maximize workflow efficiency making the PreMax an excellent choice for fast paced post production facilities, onair broadcast and recording studios of all sizes.
