Using a laptop to drive the video media on your live event comes with a slew of reliability issues and when it goes wrong, a steep learning curve. The xPressCue is a 1RU hardware media player that addresses the playback needs of the video, lighting and audio professionals, currently with no equivalent on the market. It is housed in a rugged 1U enclosure, has an integrated power supply, locking connecters, a whopping 1TB of storage but most importantly, does not require a laptop for setup or operation.
The xPressCue has a huge 1TB of solid-state storage on board, the equivalent to 500 hours of HD playback. This huge amount of storage space means that you can store playback media for numerous clients and just arrive to your live event with a completely plug-and-play solution, saving you time and money not only on the setup for that event, but also in training time that would otherwise be required to operate a media server.
Also, the solid-state storage has no fans, which means no moving parts and therefore added reliability.
Have you ever arrived to your live event only to find that your client has decided to completely change their presentation or media at last minute? No problem. Just plug their USB stick into the USB3.0 port on the front of the xPressCue, hold the “Instant Copy” button and it will copy the entire USB contents onto the inbuilt SSD, making the content available for immediate playback.
The xPresCue can be controlled by the OLED display and encoder wheel, it’s web-based GUI and lighting protocols DMX, ArtNET and sACN.
It is also compatible with Elgato Streamdeck series of configurable controller units which are ideal for table-top operation for small to medium sized events.
Naturally, the xPressCue is a completely plug-and-play so therefore very easy for video technicians of all levels to control. This makes the xPressCue a great alternative for media servers for medium to large events as it doesn't incur the added costs and time of training your video technicians. Not only this, but media servers often come in a much larger format to just 1RU, so the xPressCue will save you on freight space as well.
