NEW Products at the CHAUVET UK Showcase
Posted on: 29th January 2025
Yesterday we made the short trip to London for CHAUVET Professional’s UK Customer Showcase, where we got an exclusive look at their latest innovations in professional lighting and DMX networking.
The event was held at The Place Dance Theatre and Performance Centre, 17 Dukes Road, London—just a five-minute walk from Euston Station, making it an easy journey for us. A quick thirty-minute train ride from our offices in Leighton Buzzard, and we were there.
We arrived just after 10 AM to a warm welcome of fresh Pret A Manger pastries, coffee, and refreshments. After about half an hour of networking with fellow lighting professionals, we made our way into the main auditorium to begin the day's agenda.
The CHAUVET Vision
The day kicked off with an introduction to CHAUVET, presented by Arnaud Thaler, their European Marketing Manager. He took us through the company’s history, vision, and mission for the future, focusing on three core principles:
- Value: CHAUVET products strike a balance—never the most expensive, never the cheapest, but always good quality for the price —ensuring optimal value for businesses.
- Innovation: As pioneers in LED technology, CHAUVET has embraced LED sources in 95% of its products, keeping them at the forefront of professional lighting. They also boast the latest IP range of any lighting manufacturer.
- Performance: From small venues to the biggest concerts and festivals, CHAUVET’s product families are designed to deliver outstanding performance across all levels of professional lighting.
After a short coffee break, it was time for the main event—the light show we had all been waiting for.
A Showcase of Lighting Excellence
The light show was a stunning display of creativity, featuring a dynamic blend of Maverick moving head profiles and washes, COLORado moving battens, STRIKE blinders, and Strike BOLT Frost-Blinders, demonstrating the versatility and innovation of CHAUVET’s fixtures.
The main stage setup featured:
- Nine MAVERICK STORM 3 BeamWashes along the back wall, utilizing clever pixel mapping across their 28 central LEDs and 12-zone outer ring for eye-catching effects.
- Three additional BeamWashes on each flank, complemented by the mesmerizing COLORado PXL Curve 12 LED battens, which morphed like a dinosaur spine in sync with the music.
- STRIKE Bolt 1C transitioning between powerful strobes and smooth colour blocks with its DMX-controlled Smart Frost filter.
- Strike Array 2C colour-blinders creating perfectly timed strobes that built suspense in sync with the intensity of the music.
- ROGUE Outcast 1 BeamWash, MAVERICK Storm 4 SoloWash, and Storm 1 Hybrid, all cutting through the haze with stunning arial effects, adding depth and power to the overall spectacle.
The entire show was designed and operated by the talented lighting designer David Howard, using the ChamSys MQ500 Stadium console.
Exploring Lyntec and GeNetix
After the light show, we moved to a secondary space to learn about GeNetix DMX-over-ethernet networking solutions and Lyntec power management solutions.
Chris Kennedy, Director of ChamSys, and Tyler Lloyd, CHAUVET Business Development Manager, took turns demonstrating the equipment on display:
- GeNetix: ChamSys’s range of networking nodes, switches, and wall plates designed to make DMX networking effortless for live and installed applications of any size. (Stay tuned—we've got a Product Profile video coming soon!)
- Lyntec: A power management system that allows easy scheduling and sequencing of multiple circuits to manage power inrush and prevent tripping.
After an engaging Q&A session, we returned to the main auditorium for the final part of the day.
