Biamp Launch - Easy Install Conferencing

Posted on: 14th July 2022

What is Biamp Launch?

Biamp Launch is a feature found in TesiraFORTÉ X and Devio SCX conferencing devices that effectively pieces together and tunes your conference system – microphones, speakers, video bars – by measuring the acoustics of your space and setting a custom DSP for each component, all without any custom programming.

This feature is perfect for getting the most out of any space and makes configuring your Biamp conferencing system an absolute doddle. You even receive a before and after rating on the acoustic health of your space once set up is complete. You can access this and a host of other controls and setting from the web user interface.

What Equipment Does It Work With?

Biamp Launch works with a wide range of products allowing you to tailor the equipment for any given space. But be sure to check that the items you’re specifying are all Launch compatible otherwise you could end up with blind spots in your set up and certain features not configuring properly.

How does it work?

Once all your equipment is installed, connected, and turned on, you can start Biamp Launch by pressing the Launch button on your compatible TesiraFORTÉ X, Devio SCX or Parle Conference device, or via the web user interface.

The sequence begins by mapping and configuring all the components in the room. Biamp Ceiling Mics have a built in LED to indicate when the sequence is in progress and the system plays an automated message to keep you updated during each step.

Next, the system will play a tone though each speaker, building a map of the room and allowing the system to tune the DSP and levels of the speakers. Once all the speakers are tested and configured, the system will test the new setting again with each speaker to ensure it’s been optimised. A room reverb measurement will also be acquired with the new configuration settings and adjusted accordingly. This is important especially in very echoey rooms with lots of glass or hard floors. Finally for the speakers, the system will play a tone to test the intelligibility of voices in the room.

In the next stage, the speakers will play a series of tones while the mic actively picks up sound from around the room. In the latest update to Biamp Launch, microphone configuration has been further enhanced to improve noise reduction and optimise pickup.

Once complete, the system will play you a rating based on the rooms acoustic quality before and after Biamp Launch setup. You can also see this in the web user interface under the audio tab.
