6 Essential Accessories for Sennheiser EW-D

So here we go, in no particular order…
EW-D ASA Active Antenna Splitter
First on our list is the EW-D ASA antenna splitter, which allows you to greatly enhance the scalability of your racks while minimising clutter and interference. As you may already know, the EW-D ASA is the new interpretation on the classic ASA214 active antenna splitter. The main difference is that the older ASA214 worked on a wideband, spanning across 600-900mHz, whereas the new EW-D ASA’s are frequency band specific. This means that the new ASA is better tuned to work within individual frequencies but cannot be used interchangeably between channel 38 and 70. However, EW-D ASA is backwards compatible so you can use it with the G3 & G4 ew100, ew300 and ew500, meaning you don’t have to replace all your kit at once!
EW-D Charging Set
Whether it’s for your production, events or hire stock, the EW-D Charging Set is a much-needed addition to any EW-D system. The set comprises of the L 70 USB charger and 2x BA 70 rechargeable battery packs. What’s more the charging dock has 2 slots, meaning you can charge both batteries simultaneously. Having a dual charger ensures your EW-D SK bodypack transmitter or handheld transmitter SKM-S will never be left without power, especially when a 3-hour charge gets you up to 12-hours’ worth of operation!
EW-D Colour Coding Set
How many times have you spent hours wrapping the end of your wireless transmitters in coloured electrical tape, just to have to do the exact same to all the body packs and racked receivers? And how many times did you run out of colours or patterns to draw? Well, this next accessory is perfect for you and will save you huge amounts of time setting up for an event or production!
The EW-D colour coding set makes for easy identification of your Evolution Wireless Digital EM Receivers, SKM-S Handheld Mics and SK Bodypacks. With this set of tags and stickers there’s no need for multiple colours of tape as the set has 15 different colours, including Yellow, Orange, Green, Brown, Red, Blue and Purple.
ADP UHF Antenna
The new ADP UHF antenna is the replacement to the classic Sennheiser A2003-UHF wideband antenna. Compared to its predecessor, the ADP UHF includes cutouts on the main body to reduce movement from wind when used outside. The antenna allows you to produce your desired coverage angle from you receiver, increasing rejection of any irrelevant RF signals from outside desired coverage area. The antenna also drastically increases the range of the receiver, making the ADP perfect for applications where the transmitter is far away from the receiver. And don’t worry, the ADP isn’t just for EW-D, it’s backwards compatible and works over a generous 470 - 1075MHz frequency range.
EW-D AB Antenna Booster
Compensate for RF signal loss when running long coaxial antenna cables with the EW-D AB. The antenna booster delivers a 12dB boost to the signal to significantly improve the wireless performance of your EW-D receiver. This gives you the flexibility to place your front of house wherever you need to without compromising on the quality of your audio.
EW-D Smart Assist App
The final essential accessory for EW-D is the Smart Assist App. The app takes all the simple to use features of Evolution Wireless Digital and puts them in the palm of your hand so you can control and monitor up to 16 channels remotely. It’s completely free on iOS and Android and connects to your receivers via Bluetooth.
