Searle Audio Elevate Office Meeting Rooms with Sennheiser's TeamConnect
Based in Cumbria, Searle Audio are residential and commercial AV experts with experience in home cinemas, multi-room audio and lighting control, zone systems, and meeting rooms and conference systems.
A long-standing client had developed a new office in Edinburgh city centre and needed five meeting rooms upgraded with high-quality equipment. One room in particular had a long layout with a maximum capacity of up to 20 participants. This meant they needed a solution that could pick up clear audio from a distance without background noises.
Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling 2 mic was chosen firstly for its unobtrusive design. Searle Audio installed the mic in the middle of the room and, with ease due to its 60sqm radius, the microphone could pick up all participants even at the back of the room. In addition, it was able to fit seamlessly into a standard ceiling grid without the extra need for brackets.
The main concern in this install was that the microphone would pick up the air con ducts in the ceiling, but the TeamConnect Beamforming Technology ensured this wouldn’t happen. The Beamforming Technology meant participants in the meeting could move around freely if needed, and the microphone would still transmit crystal-clear audio as if the receiving participants were in the room. They could be putting on a presentation, sitting at the table, or demonstrating over a video conference and the bonus was that the audio would never be tainted.
'It can be easily connected to similar systems via the balanced analogue audio output without the need for any additional DSP hardware/ configuration,' comments Gary Searle, Director at Searle Audio. 'It’s virtually plug and play.'
The Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 mic had a simple DSP software built into it, accessed via a web browser to set exclusion zones or adjust the analogue output level to suit partnering systems so Searle Audio or their end customer would never have to worry about further configuration. As a result, the client was able to enjoy all five meeting rooms with high-quality audio output thanks to the relationship built between Leisuretec and Searle Audio.
