CHAUVET DJ recently introduced a clever new product designed to add visual impact to setups that would normally have no lighting at all. The FLEXstand FX ILS is a combined speaker or lighting stand with integrated LEDs, allowing DJs, hire production companies, bands and event professionals to illuminate a space while supporting their equipment.

We recently welcomed Tyler from CHAUVET to our studio to demonstrate the FLEXstand and explain its key features. Watch the video below for the full rundown.

A Solid, Stable Base

One of the standout design features is its heavy-duty square base. Instead of traditional tripod legs that spread across the floor, this stand uses a flat, weighted base plate, giving it a much cleaner footprint. This gives it improved stability compared to lightweight tripod stands, a cleaner presentation and reduced trip hazards in busy environments.

The base also features rubber feet, helping to protect delicate surfaces such as marble or wooden floors, making it suitable for venues where floor protection is important.

Despite its sleek design, it’s rated for loads up to 60kg, making it more than capable of supporting many common speakers or lighting fixtures.

Transport is made easy with the included carry bags – one for the base, and one for the stand.

Built-In LEDs for Instant Atmosphere

The built-in LEDs allow the stand itself to become part of your lighting design, creating effects that would normally require additional fixtures. This makes it ideal for events where you want to enhance the atmosphere without adding more lighting equipment.

The stand can produce a continuous “runway” style lighting effect running the full length of the column. As you adjust the height of the stand, settings on the rear allow the LEDs to maintain a seamless effect, ensuring there are no gaps or jumps in the lighting pattern.

Flexible Control Options

The stand comes with a bunch of built-in macros and effects and is designed to be flexible depending on the type of setup you’re running:

  • CHAUVET’s patented ILS (Integrated Lighting System) for easily synchronising effects with other compatible fixtures. Simply control your entire rig with the ILS Command lighting effect controller.
  • D-Fi USB wireless DMX for cable-free control
  • The onboard rear menu, allowing quick setup directly on the unit

These control options mean the FLEXstand can easily integrate into your existing lighting systems or operate as a standalone feature.

Speaker or Lighting Fixture Mounting

On top of the eye-candy, the FLEXstand FX ILS is a fully functional equipment stand. It comes with an adaptor that allows you to mount either:

  • A speaker, turning it into an illuminated speaker stand
  • A lighting fixture, adding height and visual presence to your lighting setup

The height can be easily adjusted using the spring clip on the side, allowing you to make quick adjustments to the required level during setup.

A Smart Upgrade for Event Setups

For DJs, bands, event production teams and hire companies, the FLEXstand offers a practical way to combine two pieces of equipment into one. Instead of adding separate eye-candy lighting fixtures around your speaker stands, the stand itself becomes part of the visual design. This gives a cleaner setup, fewer fixtures to deploy, and an enhanced atmosphere for events.

If you’re looking for a way to add lighting impact to speaker positions or lighting rigs without increasing your equipment footprint, this stand is a smart solution.

LIMITED RUN IN WHITE

On top of stocking the stand in black, we’ll also be purchasing a limited run of the FLEXstand finished in white, ideal for customers working in weddings or themed parties who need white equipment to match their setup.

These should arrive in the coming months leading up to the busy summer season. Contact us on 01525 850085 for more information.
