Mike Henden

Mike’s journey in the industry began in his early teens, roadieing for his elder brother Chris’s disco roadshow and then DJing himself. Chris later founded Luton Sound and Lighting, a small yet nationally recognised disco retail shop in Luton, where Mike joined after leaving school. In the later years of the shop, Mike took the reins, and having gained valuable experience in both retail sales and installation, he spotted a gap in the market for a sound and lighting distributor serving trade businesses and professionals.

In 1990, Leisuretec was born. The principles on which Mike founded the company remain at our core today: to provide trade professionals with a quick & reliable source for sound and lighting, at competitive prices with a genuinely friendly service.

Today, Mike remains closely involved with the business, with a particular focus on strategy, finance and vendor relationships. With decades of industry experience and a deep understanding of the industry, he continues to play an influential role in shaping Leisuretec’s direction and supporting its ongoing success.
