What’s behind my top four product picks

  1. Internally Wired Bar (IWB) – You typically place this bar above the lights in a theatre or similar setting and it provides a local power source, negating the need for running long trailing cables. IWBs come in different lengths and can be customised on request.
  2. NX 985-A – I’ll always remember the demo of this loudspeaker system at RCF’s headquarters in Reggio Emilia, Italy. It was so loud that my stomach felt like it was doing somersaults. The amplifier produces up to 138 dB of sound, comparable to a jet taking off.
  3. THS 15" +4" +2.5" 3-Way Triaxial Trapezoidal Loudspeaker – Built for raves and clubs and really punchy, I first experienced this speaker standing next to the MD of Martin Audio. I said it had ridiculous sound levels, peaking at 135 dB, and he agreed, adding that’s why he made it. 4.
  4. Maverick Force 2 BeamWash – There are so many creative features and it’s not too expensive for live events, theatre and any light projections. The LED yoke can do split colours for an eye candy effect as well as a deep beam wash, a tight beam, or a wider angled wash. It also has pixel-mapping so each of the 12 chips can be a different colour.

If I could invent a new product to add to our range…

Sennheiser already sells a wireless lapel microphone system, but why can’t we yet connect the mic wirelessly to the belt pack?

3

My go-to song to get pumped for a busy day

Hold Me While You Wait, Lewis Capaldi.

4

My unofficial title at Leisuretec

Sausage! I’ve been known to eat a whole jar of hot dogs in a single sandwich.

5

My favourite thing about working at Leisuretec

I’m most proud of my project-based work. I receive an enquiry and build a picture from the ground up – the staging, lighting and audio. I always tell customers why I’ve chosen particular products, putting meat on the bones, which gives them more confidence in their pitch and often secures repeat business.
