As a long-standing member of our trusty warehouse team, Jason’s Monday to Friday involves expertly overseeing the arrival and departure of goods and ensuring that stock is in the right place at the right time. Away from the forklifts and pallets, though, have we truly appreciated how much of a legend he is in the world of BBQ-ing.
Put the best of both together – setting the gold standard at work and treating us to that perfect smoky sizzle – and it’s easy to see why Jason captured the majority of votes to win Employee of the Month.
In August, he not only completing his tasks with a smile and a sure touch but covered staff on leave, arrived early to tackle workloads, and worked late one week when there was an issue with the regular delivery driver and we were relying on substitute vans. One sun-shining Friday lunchtime we also all got together for a Leisuretec BBQ. Jason stepped up to the plate as al fresco chef, giving up his time to cook burgers and bangers, juicy on the inside and nicely charred on the outside. ‘An absolute 100% well done to Jason as BBQ chef – what a sausage,’ in the words of one colleague.
Another team member sums up his contribution: ‘We had team breakfast in the morning and the BBQ in the afternoon. With another member of the warehouse team on holiday, he’s one of the people who consistently does a great job receiving all the goods, processing them, putting them away, and catching up with the backlog of picked orders. Great job and great teamwork.’
‘Winning Employee of the Month makes me feel valued and appreciated, especially by people in sales and marketing who I don’t regularly interact with,’ Jason says. ‘They’ve recognised that I’ve gone above and beyond. I’m now also considered the Leisuretec master chef!’
