Since their establishment in 1990, MAGIC FX has been at the forefront of professional special effects, designing and manufacturing high-impact FX equipment used on stages, in arenas, at festivals and in clubs around the world. Founded in the Netherlands, MAGIC FX has built a reputation for combining engineering precision with creative spectacle, helping production teams deliver unforgettable moments for audiences.
Most production professionals don’t need an introduction to MAGIC FX. But if you don’t already know who they are, you’ve probably interacted with them without even realising it. Those unforgettable moments at a concert where confetti or streamers explode into the air - that was most likely their product.

Confetti and Streamer Hardware
MAGIC FX is best known for its industry-leading confetti and streamer systems, designed for precision timing and repeatable impact.
POWERSHOT 1 & POWERSHOT 2
Compact shot units that fire electric confetti or streamer cartridges, ideal for small-to-medium stages and venue installations. These neat little launchers can be placed on stage or mounted in truss, and will fire in any direction so you can integrate them perfectly into your production. They offer fast reload times and can shoot confetti up to 6 or 12 metres, and streamers from 12 up to 20 metres into the sky.
DJSHOTGUN and CONFETTIGUN
BOOM! These handheld cannons will definitely get the party started. Performers can shoot confetti and streamers into the air, offering a creative way to interact with the crowd. Just load in your cartridge, release the safety switch and pull the trigger.
The DJSHOTGUN, powered by 9V batteries, fires a single confetti or streamer cartridge at a time and will get up to 50 shots from two full batteries. The CONFETTIGUN fires three – in single-shot or full-shot mode – for performers who want that extra bang of confetti craziness! It even has a built-in laser to assist with aiming and will deliver around 1,000 single shots from its internal LiPo battery pack.
STADIUMSHOT III
Considered by many as the industry standard, this powerful confetti and streamer launcher delivers massive output, perfect for the biggest events and festivals. Despite being a stadium-sized launcher, it’s still relatively compact, and the shoot direction can be easily adjusted using the numbered steps next to the output pipe. The output pipe can be removed and stored inside the integrated flight case, and the whole unit comes on castor wheels for easy transport. It features next-level safety with the SFX Safety Arm system and can also be controlled via DMX for easy integration with your lighting console. Its internal air compressor lets you shoot 3kg of confetti up to 20 metres into the air, or streamers up to a staggering 40 metres.
SHOT BASE DMX
A simple but effective 4-way launcher that can fire up to four electric confetti or streamer cartridges at a time. It can be mounted to stage or truss and features DMX control, offering plenty of flexibility to fire in different directions. Reload with electric confetti or streamer cartridges and you’re ready to go again.
CLUBBLOWER & STADIUMBLOWER
Make it rain! The BLOWER series are confetti launchers that blow confetti out continuously rather than in one single bang. The CLUBBLOWER outputs up to 8m, running for up to two minutes with 1kg of paper confetti.
The STADIUMBLOWER increases output to 15m, consuming up to 2kg per minute, creating hurricanes of happiness for the audience. Both units feature an automatic confetti dosing system, so all you need to do is plug it in, fill it up and fill the clouds with confetti!
Top tip: Pair the CLUBBLOWER with an FX-BLOWER and you can achieve output of up to 20m.
SUPERBLASTER II & STADIUMBLASTER
The Blaster series uses CO₂ to blast confetti into the air, throwing it further than the Blower series while allowing the production team to continuously refill the confetti compartment for an ongoing effect. The output direction can be easily adjusted, and the units can be operated from multiple sides. They come in an integrated flight case design with castor wheels for easy transport and storage during touring. Just fill the hopper with confetti and blast your crowd with excitement.
The SUPERBLASTER takes up to 10kg of paper confetti, while the STADIUMBLASTER takes up to 20kg and also offers DMX control, making it easy to integrate with your lighting control system.
Smoke & Bubble Effects
SMOKEJET
A versatile fogger that blows smoke upwards, downwards or sideways. It can be placed on stage or mounted to truss and has built-in LEDs so you can colour your smoke. Control is via DMX or the included wireless remote.
ECO2JET
A perfect alternative to CO₂ smoke jets – just as powerful, but without the need for CO₂ gas bottles. Equipped with a specially designed nozzle and turbo fan, it can blast smoke up to 12 metres and doesn’t depend on humidity – so even on a sunny day, you’ll still get big white smoke clouds.
It can be stage-mounted or truss-mounted in any direction and is controlled via DMX. There are indoor and outdoor fluid options available, with the indoor version slightly less dense and dissipating a little faster.
SMOKEBUBBLE BLASTER
Blows smoke-filled bubbles to create a magical atmosphere. Capable of producing up to 6,000 bubbles per minute.
Drop Systems
MAGIC FX also manufacture Drop Systems - designed to create these big reveal moments. These systems are used to drop curtains, backdrops, banners or flags at exactly the right moment, unveiling a stage, product or key feature of an event. Whether it's a brand launch, opening ceremony, product presentation or even a car reveal, drop systems add that extra layer of drama and precision to your application.
They're simple to rig, reliable in operation, and can easily be integrated into your control setup, giving you confidence that the reveal happens exactly when it should.
Perfect for corporate events, theatre productions, live shows and experimental activations where timing is everything.
The Consumables
MAGIC FX consumables come in a wide range of options, so you can easily match your special effects to your project theme.
Confetti Bags
Available in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colours. Most are made from biodegradable, flame-retardant paper.
- Shapes: Rectangles, Rounds, Stars, Butterflies, Hearts, Powderfetti (smaller, finer cuts), Squares, Snowflakes
- Colours: A huge variety (depending on shape), including metallic and fluorescent options.
Streamer Bags
Streamers come in a variety of colours, lengths and widths. They are also mostly made from biodegradable, flame-resistant material. Available in the following sizes:
- 5m x 0.85cm
- 10m x 1.5cm
- 10m x 2.5cm
- 10m x 5cm
- 20m x 2.5cm
- 20m x 5cm
Both confetti and streamer bags are designed to work with the larger hardware units that feature hoppers.
Electric Shots
Electric shots are designed to work with the smaller hardware and hand cannons. The longer the tube, the more confetti or streamer it contains. They’re available in a wide range of shapes and sizes.
Handheld Shots
These don’t rely on hardware to be fired – just twist by hand and get the party started! Available in very similar variants to the electric shots above.
FX Fluids
MAGIC FX also manufactures its own professional atmospheric fluids for their smoke, bubble and snow machines, ensuring consistent output and performance.
Drop Systems
Control and Safety
With special effects, safety is paramount. MAGIC FX offers a full control ecosystem so you can time those big moments perfectly while ensuring optimal safety at all times.
RED BUTTON
A simple, direct firing solution. A pretty cool one too – who doesn’t want to press the big red button? This would be great for brand activation events (a bit like cutting the “red tape”), or even for use by a performer on stage for added crowd interaction.
FX-COMM4NDER
A safe and professional 4-channel operating device for direct on/off special effects such as the POWERSHOT II, ECO2JET and STADIUMSHOT II. Equipped with a safety channel and key, FX warning LED and “fire all” button, this control unit is rainproof and designed for backstage use by the pyro team.
FX-SWITCHPACK
Standard dimmers and switch packs are designed to control lights – and aren’t suitable for FX. That’s where this handy unit comes in. It’s a converter that allows you to control 100/250VAC on/off devices via DMX, specifically designed for special effects.
It’s a multi-relay system with a DMX safety channel and FX warning LED, ensuring effects will only activate when fired correctly. Safety first. It’s also rainproof and comes with M10 mounting holes so you can rig it wherever you need.
SFX Safety Arms System
The Safety Arms system is made up of the Arm Controller, Safety Beacon, Safety E-Stop, Combiner Box and 19” Combiner Box.
The Arm Controller is the heart of the system. Designed for higher-risk special FX equipment such as the FLAMEBLAZER, HELLFIRE and STADIUMSHOT II, this remote control offers an added layer of security: a key-activated system that must be unlocked before the system is ready to fire. Turning the key arms the connected FX hardware.
The E-Stop can be placed anywhere within your arm chain. When pressed, it locks the system and turns the Arm Controller’s reset button red, alerting the operator that it’s not safe to fire. Once all E-Stops are released, the main operator can reset the system and continue the show.
The Beacon can also be added anywhere in the arm line and flashes red when the system is armed, alerting the entire stage team that high-risk FX equipment is ready to be used.
The Combiner Box and 19” rack combiner the arm signal and DMX, allowing you to run everything over one cable and across longer distances.
