With Sennheiser’s track record for revolutionising the world of wireless audio, it stands to reason the latest addition to their flagship evolution wireless series was an instant fan favourite.
Launching in mid-2021, Evolution Wireless Digital perfectly married digital processing with UHF transmission, taking advantage of mega 56MHz bandwidth, super low latency and 12-hour battery life to storm stages across the country. However, EW-D has a secret weapon behind the scenes – the Smart Assist app – a free remote-control for iOS and Android, giving users full control and monitoring of up to 16 channels. The Smart Assist App makes setting up and working with wireless audio easier than ever before regardless of technical skill.
Don’t believe us? We thought it was too good to be true, so we set our team a challenge to see who could set up our EW-D system the fastest. Winner takes all… bragging rights and first dibs on the festive biscuit selection. Watch our video above to see how they got on.

Everyone took to the app like ducks to water, however there could only be one winner. With some very close calls, a few expletives and only seconds ahead of Obed and the others, Holly just edged out the competition, setting up our EW-D system in a blistering 2 minutes and 34 seconds!
